5 things you need to know about relocating to Allstate's corporate headquarters
When you move to the Allstate Corporation’s headquarters, there are a few things you should know about the town that Allstate calls home – Northfield, Illinois.
Northfield is located about an hour and 15 minutes north of Chicago, so it’s still close enough to drive into the city if you need to do so, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of big-city living if you want to escape it at times.
Here are five things about Northfield that can help make your relocation smoother.
1) Relocation Package
Allstate offers relocation assistance, so if you’re considering moving and would like help with the process, we offer a variety of incentives.
For instance, once you join the company as an employee, we’ll help pay for your move.
Plus, if you’re relocating with a family of four or more people, we’ll also provide financial assistance up to $1,000 per person.

I also have some travel requirements for meetings, but it’s all been manageable thanks to the flexibility Allstate offers me!
3) Life in Northbrook, IL
As one of the most livable cities in the United States, Northbrook is a great place for someone who wants to live in a suburban setting with plenty of amenities.
Residents enjoy an excellent public school system, abundant restaurants, and an active nightlife.
It also has easy access to downtown Chicago and O’Hare International Airport.
The cost of living in Northbrook is fairly high due to the relatively low median household income; however, it does have more affordable housing options than many other surrounding suburbs.
If you’re looking for culture and entertainment, Northbrook doesn’t offer as much as neighboring Deerfield or Lake Forest, but residents have quick access to all the offerings that come from being part of Chicago’s outer ring.
Employees can choose from a variety of different home styles when they purchase property.
4) Community Involvement
